Xero now gives you Payroll
Xero's latest release now brings payroll functionality to its already powerful online accounting package. Xero payroll lets you generate payslips, create batch payments to make it easier to pay staff and track taxes and superannuation withheld.
This is great news for businesses that have a really simple payroll process, that being a small number of employees or pay runs that do not change a lot. When using Xero payroll you will need to manually calculate the tax withheld and the super required for each pay run. It also wont keep track of your employee leave requirements. If you are looking for a very simple method to keep track of your payroll with no additional costs, then Xero payroll is for you. However, when thinking of cost don't forget to include the time it takes you to process your payroll, calculate the tax and super and track staff leave.
Want More Than Xero Payroll?
For businesses that would like to save time processing payroll and automatically track staff leave and entitlements, not forgetting needing a quick method to calculate tax withholding and superannuation entitlements, then our suggestion would be Paycycle (www.paycycle.com.au). We use it internally and will continue to use it for our clients that require payroll.
One of the great features of Paycycle is that once you have set up your employees, your pay run process is pretty straight forward, if you need to change a standard pay run, change it and Paycycle will adjust the tax withholding accordingly and will also adjust the superannuation and leave entitlement calculations. This is a great time saver, as there is no need to get the calculator out or refer to a separate tax withholding table. Not to mention that the tax tables are up to date, as the updates are included in your subscription and happen while you sleep!
