Why we prefer Xero
At Your Accounts Department, we want to provide our clients with a more proactive service rather than a reactive service. In the past this was not possible, however, with the introduction of online accounting software, the relationship between client and advisor is now more interactive.
In the times of desktop accounting software such as Quickbooks and MYOB, our service offering was restrained by the need to pass a datafile back and forth, you never knew who had the live data file. If the accountant needed to make changes to a client's data, they needed to obtain the file from the client, meaning the client had to wait for the file to be returned before they could continue entering business transactions.
Today, with the use of accounting software online, this arduous process of transferring the data file back and forth is no longer a problem. There are a number of products in the marketplace that are offering customers an online accounting experience. The main three available in Australia at present are Saasu, Xero and more recently MYOB LiveAccounts. We have tried all three and our preference is Xero.
